Leverage Change

As most financial jurisdictions have implemented a customer protection program to prevent customers to accidentally losing money, there is a limit to how much leverage a broker can offer to a new non-professional customer. These limits are currently set to: 1:500 for Standard accounts below $1000 (USD), and 1:200 for our metal and gem accounts above $1000.

Thus, in order to be able to trade on small accounts with a 1:500 leverage, and if you live in any of these jurisdictions, you will be required to fill out an application for increasing your highest default leverage (as show in your account pages). The application consists of a number of questions and exercises that you will have to complete and sign, to show that you indeed are a professional trader who understand the risks involved with using leveraged accounts.

Fast order execution

The Kumo Markets MetaTrader 4 servers are located in the Equinix NY4 data centre in New York. The NY4 data centre referred to as a financial ecosystem is home to over 600 buy and sell side firms, exchanges, trading venues, market data and service providers. The MetaTrader 4 servers are cross connected to our network to ensure low latency and the fast execution of your trades.

Our market leading spreads are using aggregated prices which are streamed from a number of different financial institutions. In this way we can ensure the most competitive pricing and highest speeds, at any one time. Many other brokers market this as raw-spread, but this is just our standard and can go as low as zero* pips on all our platforms.

Our average execution speed is under 40 ms, once your order is received by us. Because our technology providers only utilize servers very close to the world’s greatest exchanges (in New-York, London and Tokyo), we can execute your trade at one of the fastest speeds in the industry, while allowing full access to the depth of market, via the order-book.

Currency Pairs

Kumo Markets streams prices on 60 different currency pairs and 4 metals on all 3 of our trading platforms. Kumo Markets is able to offer some of the best pricing in the industry by aggregating quotes from several different top-tier liquidity providers (pricing sources). This low pricing combined with unrivalled execution speeds makes Kumo Markets the favoured destination for day traders, scalpers and those using Expert Advisors (EAs) for executing automatic/robotic trading.

Swap Rates

We offer long and short swap rates for all of our currency pairs and metals. Swap rates are determined by the overnight interest rate differential between the two currencies involved in the pair and whether the position is a buy (a “long”) or a sell (a “short”). Essentially, swap is service and maintenance cost you pay for leaving your open trades over night, on the exchange servers. This cost also depend on the time of the month, and therefore the swap offered by Kumo Markets is an average.

Trading Hours

We are open to trade whenever the exchange market hours are open, so you will never miss-out on any opportunity. Different instruments have different opening hours. For example, the opening hours for FOREX is approximately 24/5 in local time for each of the regional exchanges. So, for a London based currency trader, this means you can trade from Sunday 22:00 GMT (summer time) to Friday 21:00 GMT (summer time). For crypto-currency trading the hours are truly 24/7 without interruption, whereas the regular stock-trading follow the NYSE and NASDAQ opening hours, between 09:30 EST to 16:00 EST (Monday through Friday.) However, we make it easy to know when the markets are open for trading. On our front page, you can see at a glance all the trading hours for our broad range of products. Trading hours can also be viewed from within the MetaTrader and cTrader trading terminals.
